I am a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Mother, Grandmother, Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, Baker, Master Raw Food Chef, and Published Author. I have learned over the years that what we put into our bodies will reveal good or bad health.
As an integrative nutrition health coach, I understand the importance of maintaining good gut health, as most diseases originate from the gut. I always emphasize the importance of what we put into our bodies to achieve and maintain good health. My brother passed away years ago due to complications from morbid obesity, and his son followed years later. The back to back losses further encouraged my health journey and my drive to share the knowledge with others. We attribute health problems to heredity when it’s often about the food we consume. The supermarket shelves are filled with bread that contains a variety of ingredients, most of which are refined grains and difficult to pronounce. However, grains were created by God for our consumption, and the best way to preserve their nutrients is by stone-milling them into flour. I personally grind grains into flour and use only four to six ingredients that are easily recognizable and beneficial for your gut. I only mill the flour upon receiving an order, which ensures that you receive all of the nutrients from the bran, germ, and endosperm.
Bran is the hard outer layer of a kernel, which contains the majority of the kernel's fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Germ is the part of the kernel that sprouts into a new plant, providing vitamins, healthy fats, and other essential nutrients. Finally, endosperm serves as the energy supply for the seed.
Choosing whole-grain foods is a great way to maintain a healthy and nutritious diet. Whole grains offer an excellent source of fiber, vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients.
Eating whole-grain foods can help regulate your cholesterol levels, manage your weight, and control your blood pressure. Additionally, these foods reduce the risk of developing conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and other related health problems, as suggested by the Mayo Clinic.
